CMUNNY III
October 23-26, 2008
Columbia University
New York, NY

Held on the Columbia University campus on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, CMUNNY III is a small crisis simulation conference staffed by Columbia students. Noted for its intense level of debate, CMUNNY provides an engaging and challenging experience for delegates by means of personal attention from the devoted dais and crisis staff--made possible by committees that do not exceed 15 delegates in size. The conference will feature both historical bodies and present-day meetings, ranging from the 1999 Lusaka Peace Accords to 16th-century Machiavelli’s Italy to the San Remo Conference of 1920. We will also be featuring-- in honor of the presidential election occuring two weeks after CMUNNY III-- Decision 2008: joint-crisis committees consisting of the respective advisors to fictional Democrat and Republican presidential nominees. We will be running our first futuristic committees this year: the 2030 New Haven Conference: American Secession and the 2015 World Leaders Summit on Climate Change.

Columbia University is located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York City. The city is both the center of international diplomacy and a diverse amalgamation of cultures, peoples, and locales. The conference, held over four days, will provide an opportunity for students from around the United States and worldwide to experience this city’s vibrancy.
